                            Investment Grade Graphite Fly Rods

Investment Grade Presentation and Museum graphite rods, by Pryor Custom Fly Rods, represents the culmination of the world's finest components, blanks and craftsmanship built into a single magnificent fly rod.  Proclaimed by many to be the finest custom graphite fly rods in the world, and with over 40 hours of craftsmanship built into each rod, they are sure to be the highest quality rods you will ever own.  Through our experience, in house fabrication and quality control, these rods have surpassed all other graphite rods in quality, accuracy and performance, and beauty and we are proud to offer these one of a kind precision fishing instruments.

All Pryor fly rods are designed and tested to be far superior to any factory fly rod with the quality and durability to stand up to the rigors of long seasons of daily use.  Each rod is hand made with a focus on performance in actual fishing conditions.  These rods have an accuracy and presentation only found in a custom made fly rod and are built with the care and beauty that makes them a true work of art.

All Presentation and Museum Grade rods are built using the finest graphite blanks, by C.F. Burkheimer, known by many as the very best in the world.  We thought it fitting that we would only use these blanks as the foundation Pryor Rods are built upon.  All components are solid sterling and nickel silver and most are made right here in our shop.  It was the only way to ensure the highest quality possible.  Presentation models feature solid titanium framed stripping guides with silicon carbide rings, the hardest in the industry.  The Museum models feature nickel silver framed and silver wire bezeled stripping guides with finely polished natural agate stone rings and running guides made of space aged nickel titanium.  There are no coatings to wear off and they keep their shape even after bending.  In fact, they can even be flexed for de-icing during winter fishing conditions.  These guides are 6 times lighter and stronger than standard chrome snake guides.

One of the major contributions to the superior accuracy and overall performance of our rods is in the guide sizing and placement.  Each guide is undersized, which removes any feeling of sloppiness in the line and rod when casting.  Many people today believe that over sized guides allow an angler to make longer casts, but this is actually not the case!  Larger guides allow a fly line to move around loosely and actually impair the line's ability to exit the guide.  When the guide is undersized, it directs the line to go in the only direction it can...out!

The reel seats on each Presentation and Museum Grade rod are hand made of fine nickel silver and polished to a jewelry finish.  The reel seat inserts are the real jewels!  They are hand turned and mortised, depending on the model, and resin stabilized featuring only the rarest and most expensive museum quality burls and rare woods.  All grips are hand turned from only the best 5 star reserve grade cork available.  Unlike other rods, they feature thin rings (as an option on Museum rods), just as those used on the finest vintage cane rods of old.  Each cork rings glue joint is hand dyed for subtle detailing.  Grips also feature rare museum grade resin stabilized woods that not only add a great deal of beauty, but allow a fisherman's hand much improved contact with the rod blank for unbelievable rod sensitivity.

All rods feature beautiful nickel silver traditional winding checks and solid silver strap and ring hook keepers (braided on Museum models).  The thread wraps perfectly match the blank colors, unless a custom color is desired, and a thin band of platinum trims each wrap.  As a crowning glory, each ferrule and butt section receives a feather inlay with feathers such as Jungle Cock, Toucan, Indian Crow, Chatterer and Macaw.  These feathers are extremely rare and expensive and were used in the dressings of classic feather winged salmon flies of the past.

Each rod is hand signed and numbered by its maker and carries a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee.  A beautiful hand made rod bag and black and pewter powder coated aluminum rod tube accompany each rod.  Additional options include hardware and rod tube engraving, wood and feather inlay upgrades, and grip customizations.

                                    Museum Grade Fly Rods
