We carry a limited supply of in house made custom rod building components. All woods used in our components are of Presentation and Museum Grade only. Generally, we have over 120+ species of domestic and exotic hardwoods, but availability is always limited. Please contact us for species availability. PLEASE NOTE : Due to newly imposed laws and importation problems, Amboyna Burl has become EXTREMELY RARE and very difficult to obtain, especially in the quality I use. The market price of this wood has increased over 1000% in the past few months. I'm not saying that I won't continue to use or carry this species, but rods and components using high quality Amboyna will be subject to the same increase I have to pay to obtain the wood. To give you an idea of how hard it is to obtain.....I am very lucky if I find one piece once or twice per year that makes the cut in my grading standards. I continue to carry over 200 species of amazing wood, many of which are very similar to Amboyna, so by all means, give me a call. I only carry very high quality wood, so anything I have is beautiful.
Stabilized Reel Seats
All reel seats feature 18% nickel silver components and come with a mirror finish. All wood used in our seats features a very durable high gloss hand rubbed finish, unless otherwise specified.

Stabilized Wood Grips
All wood used in our grips features a very durable high gloss hand rubbed finish, unless otherwise specified. In most cases, there are more than 20 hand rubbed coats on these pieces.
Customized Wood Grips Starting at $99 Generally, grips are 5" - 6" in length, feature amazing wood
characteristics, and are customized in diameter, length and bore
diameter for your specific application. Other sizing is available. Please

As you can see, this is not standard grain Black Walnut. This is an amazing Black Walnut Feather Crotch.
Finished Rattan Grips
Classic looks available on modern rods. All rattan grips are wrapped over turned Basswood, not cork, for a much more durable grip. These grips come with a finished wood grip check and 10-15 hand rubbed finish coats over entire grip to last a lifetime.

All wood used in our winding checks features a very durable high gloss hand rubbed finish, unless otherwise specified.

(Above photo): This is how much of our wood looks before it makes it's journey to the shop, as shown in the above photos of this Maple Burl. The top burl is actually over two feet across! We collect most of the domestic woods ourselves, which are then either dried in our kiln or left to air dry for up to three years before stabilization.
To keep quality high and costs low, all products are custom made, hand turned, finished and stabilized in our shop.
